After many years of working in bars, I can attest to the truthiness of THIS list by Frank Kelly Rich.

If you are the bar’s sole customer, you are obliged to make small talk with the bartender until he stops acknowledging you. Then you’re off the hook. The same goes for him.

Never argue your tab at the end of the night. Remember, you’re hammered and they’re sober. It’s akin to a precocious five-year-old arguing the super-string theory with a physicist. 99.9% of the time you’re wrong and either way you’re going to come off as a jackass.

Drink one girly drink in public and you will forever be known as the guy who drinks girly drinks.

I LOVE this. If I didn’t have to go to school and work and take care of cats and pretend to be normal I’d be traveling all over the world and staying in THESE hotels. This site helps you find amazing adventure hotels to stay in all over the world. There’s one where you can stay underwater with a big window looking into the ocean, and there’s one in Arizona where you can stay in a wigwam. I was so excited to show it to y’all that I didn’t even look at all of them yet.

It’s in Alaska – you can rent out a restored train car for the night! Way cool. The site rates it a “Wow!”

Go over to VideoStored - it’s a site that shows all kinds of movies, series, cartoons, videos, and standup comedy…for free! I don’t know if you need a broadband connection or not…but it doesn’t seem to take long to load.

National Weight Control Registry

Now THIS SITE is kinda interesting, especially if you’re one of the 9 jzillion people in America interested in losing weight. The Weight Control Registry is an ongoing investigation – you know, like all scientific and stuff – into who loses weight and keeps it off. To be considered for membership, you have to be 18+ years old, and you need to have maintained a weight loss of at least 30 pounds for at least a year. They they do all this cool peer-reviewed research on these folks to determine which behaviors, psychological factors, and diets have lead to long-term weight loss. (It looks like exercise and eating less might have something to do with it.)
